Friends,
This is just a statement, not a suggestion. Most private companies strive to limit their liabilties. By allowing employees to freely surf the internet, a company cannot control whether work is actually being done on those computers.
Many of you that work at companies in Waycross and Brunswick have probably noticed that your employer has installed blocking software to keep certain websites from being viewed during work hours and also been informed that a log of your internet visiting and times will be kept in your personel file.
Some of this stems from sexual harrassment law suits, but most is to keep the employee focused on work and not on updating his or her facebook page every 30 minutes.
Anyone working for the Board of Commissioner or the Board of Education are really your employees due to the fact that your taxes pay their salaries.
What level of control do you want on your employees web surfing?
